Terry L. Hackney
Terry L. Hackney, Senior Funeral Director, has been employed at Brown-Wynne since 1959, and has been a Funeral Service Licensee since 1961. A native of Orange County, Terry is a graduate of Eckels College of Mortuary Science. He and his wife, Barbara Bruton Hackney, are members of First United Methodist Church of Fuquay-Varina, NC. They have two sons, Paul and Michael. Terry is a member and past Director of Cary Rotary, member and past President of Cary Chamber of Commerce, member and past Master of the Cary Masonic Lodge, and member and past Director of Funeral Association Board. His interests include golf and fishing.
 

Kenneth Hagan
Kenneth is a licensed funeral director and a graduate from Ravenscroft High School, NCSU, and Fayetteville Community College Mortuary Science program. Kenneth joined the Brown Wynne and Mitchell team in February 2008. He along with his wife Anna and their three children Ashton, Daniel, and Christiana have lived in Raleigh since 1978. They are members of the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Kenneth enjoys running, singing at nursing homes, attending church and spending time with his family and friends when he is not serving families. Before joining our team he and his wife owned their own wallpaper installation company. Kenneth takes pride in knowing that he is helping families on the worst day of their lives.
 

Betty Jean Parrish Haley
Betty Jean Parrish Haley, Secretary, has served the Brown-Wynne, Cary location since 2000. A native of Wake County, NC, Betty is a graduate of Peace College, Raleigh. She is a member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh. Betty has one daughter, Deborah J. Haley. Currently, she is an officer of the Federal Employees Credit Union, active in the Order of Eastern Star, and the NARFE Association. She enjoys sports, gardening and cooking.
 

Marlow Huff
Marlow is the Cemetery Superintendent for Raleigh Memorial Park. Marlow joined our team in August of 2007 after previously working in Social Services and also other construction and landscaping companies. He and his wife Sally are from Wendell and have lived there since 1982. They have two children, Kaitlyn and Andy. Marlow and his family are members of the Wendell United Methodist Church. He has been involved with the Boy Scouts and also takes pleasure in working to make a natural and beautiful environment to honor the loved ones of the families that we serve.
 

Marcus Jefferys
Marcus is the Cemetery Assistant Superintendent for Raleigh Memorial Park. He has been a member of the staff since 2000. Marcus is a native of Wake County and he and his wife Pamela and their daughter Kyanna live in Raleigh. He is a member of St. Peter's Church of Christ. Before coming to our team he worked for a monument company for five years. Marcus takes joy in his job because he likes helping others.
 

Charles E. Jordan
Charles E. Jordan joined the staff of Brown-Wynne in 2004. He is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. A graduate of Echels College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia, PA, Charles also attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Charles has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in North Carolina and Virginia since 1965.

His past experience includes, Manager of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel in Virginia Beach, VA, Senior Vice-President for operations of Guardian Medical Service from 1975 until 1981 in Rocky Mount, NC, and he retired as Senior Vice-President of Beverly Enterprises in Atlanta, GA. Charles is past Treasurer and Board Member of the Horseshoe Bend Community Association of Roswell, GA, and served on the Norfolk, VA Mayor's Commission of Aging.

Charles is married to Jean Stone Jordan and they have one daughter, Lorie J. Strickland. Charles and Jean moved to Raleigh in 2003 from Pinehurst to be near Lorie and her family. Being an active grandfather is a priority in Charles' life. He also enjoys golf and travel.

Jim Keown
Jim is a native of South Carolina, Jim began his career serving in his family's funeral and furniture business until his relocation to Raleigh, NC in 1978. He has spent most of his career in the home furnishings industry in retail management and as a manufacturer's representative before joining Raleigh Memorial Park as a family service counselor. Jim is a graduate of Furman University, Greenville, SC with both a BA and MA degree in psychology. A former Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, Jim and his wife, Jennie, are members of First Baptist Church of Raleigh. They have two sons and daughter-in-law and a granddaughter. His interests include traveling, music, art, interior design, and helping people make decisions that enhance their lifestyle and sense of security.
 

Pauline Kerekanick
Pauline Kerekanick joined the Brown-Wynne staff in 2005. A native of Kane, PA, she is a graduate of Cochranton High School in Cochranton, PA. Pauline is an active member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister. Her interests include participating in the Catholic Golden Age Club, volunteering for the American Cancer Society by driving patients to medical treatments. Pauline's hobbies are reading, decorating, baking and oil painting.
 

Mary King
Mary King is originally from Flint, Michigan but has been in the Raleigh area since 2001. Mary serves as a Family Service Counselor with Raleigh Memorial Park, Mary finds it personally rewarding to help families through difficult times. Mary enjoys reading, writing and spending time with her son Rowan.

William H. Long
William H. Long, Staff Specialist III, has served Brown-Wynne since 1995. A native of Washington, Beaufort County, NC, Bill is a graduate of Washington High School. He and his wife, Judy, have two children, Amy Brooks and Dana Starling, and one granddaughter. Bill is a member of Apex Baptist Church, Apex. He retired as a Major from the N. C. Highway Patrol, is active in Masonic Lodge #102, and serves on the State Employee Credit Union loan review committee. Bill also serves on the Advisory Board for the Apex Branch of the State Employees Credit Union. Bill enjoys playing golf.
 

Ronald L. Maness
Ron is a native of central North Carolina. He has both a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Appalachian State University. He has been a Funeral Director since 1975, has worked for the parent company of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home for eleven years, and has served as Brown-Wynne's General Manager since 2002. Ron is a lifelong Presbyterian serving as an Elder, Clerk of Session, Sunday school teacher and numerous committee chair positions. He has also had Rotary and Kiwanis club memberships. He has been married to his wife, Laura, for 21 years, and they have two children, Kristen and Lee.

Ron is committed to using all of Brown-Wynne's resources to provide a high level of service to each family that is served. "The promise I made to myself over 25 years ago, as I began my career in funeral service, was to serve each family by honoring their wishes and to use my knowledge and experience to provide them with a service that would help them celebrate the joy, the life, and the loss of a loved one. That promise remains with me today and is my commitment to each family that Brown-Wynne Funeral Homes has the privilege to serve."
 

Dale Martin
Dale has worked part time in the funeral industry in Raleigh since 2000 and currently serves as a Funeral Assistant with Mitchell and Brown-Wynne Funeral Homes.

For the last 25 years Dale has worked full time in several areas of healthcare, from retail pharmacy to emergency services. For the last 10 years Dale has been employed at Rex Hospital as a Team Leader for the hospital's Community Emergency Medical Services.

Dale and his wife Fran are originally from Pittsburg, PA and relocated to Raleigh in 1990. Since then they have been members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church and have served in many of the ministries the church supports.

Dale looks at his work at the funeral home as a ministry as well, a way to give back and help people at a time when it is much needed.

 

Betsy Marshall
Betsy Marshall Accounts Receivable Administrator, Betsy served as Office Manager for the former Mitchell Funeral Home of St. Mary's Street for over 20 years before joining the administrative staff at Brown-Wynne in 2008. She has helped in assisting thousands of families over the years and is a great asset to our company.
 

Marie Marshborne
Marie serves as a Location Hostess and Receptionist, you will see her usually at the front desk at our St. Mary's Street location. Her and her husband Dean have lived in Raleigh for over 30 years. They have two sons, Ron and David. Before joining our team Marie served as a kindergarten teacher for WCPSS. She enjoys helping families in their special time of need.
 

Joanne Lewis Mullen
Joanne Lewis Mullen, Funeral Detail Clerk, has served Brown-Wynne Funeral Homes since 1977. She was chosen Brown-Wynne Employee of the Year in 1996. Her career in funeral service began in 1964. Joanne is a native of Franklin County and a graduate of Bunn High School. She is married to Bobby Glenn Mullen, and they have one son, Jeff and one granddaughter, Katie Marie Mullen. Joanne and Bobby are members of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Franklin County, NC.

Joanne'sinterests include Carolina Mudcats AA ball games, her granddaughter, the mountains and beaches, fishing and knitting.


 

James Nettles
James serves in our Central Care and Crematory Center. James and his wife Betty live in Raleigh and have three children and four grandchildren. James joined our staff in March of 2008, before that he worked in the Insurance industry for 35 years. During his tenure in insurance he was an active member of Life Underwriters Association and served thru the different offices in the local and state level. James started in the funeral industry because he enjoys working with families and helping anyway that he can.
 

Gary Newall
Gary is a member of the grounds maintenance staff at Raleigh Memorial Park. Gary is from Cary, NC and has lived there since 1995, he is also a member of The Gathering Church. Gary joined our team in 2008 and says that mowing the gardens is his favorite part of the job. He also enjoys working hard to please the families that we serve to best of his ability. Before joining our team in worked in a call center, printer repair company, and also in a library.

Kelly Osborne
Kelly Osborne joined the staff of Brown Wynne and Mitchell funeral Homes in July 2008 as a funeral director and embalmer. Kelly graduated in 2000 from Jefferson Area High School in Ohio. She then attended Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where she received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After a career change, Kelly attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where she received her associates degree in Funeral Service. Kelly served her apprenticeship with Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, she became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Ohio. While in mortuary school she was the vice-president of the Delta Gamma Phi sorority and received Kentucky Colonel recognition. She currently resides in Cary and attends St. Michaels Catholic Church. She enjoys her family, friends, golf and traveling.
 

Michelle Pacofsky
B. Michelle Pacofsky
Michelle began working with Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in 1995.  She attended Fayetteville Technical Community College, School of Mortuary Science and became a licensed funeral director in 1997.  Prior to Fayetteville Technical Community College, she received a B.S. Degree in Psychology from the College of New Jersey.

Michelle is a parishioner of Sacred Heart Cathedral.  She is also a board member with Raleigh City Cemeteries Preservation, Inc.  She resides in Historic Oakwood with her husband and son.
